Fun Things to Do in Prince George's County, Maryland.

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

  1. Get married there...just kidding. It's not for everyone but for me and my hubby we "jumped the broom" twice in Laurel, Maryland. More on that later.

  2. Attend the annual Air and Space Show at Andrews Air Force Base.

  3. Enjoy a catered meal at Newton White Mansion in Greenbelt or at Montpelier in Laurel with new and old friends.

  4. Jump on and off the subway train and buses in Hyattsville and shop at the local shops.

  5. Take a lovely driving tour of Route One from Bladensburg to College Park to Laurel during rush hour traffic. Just kidding...early mornings on the weekends is best.

  6. Drive down the Parkway known as the Baltimore Washington Parkway and think about George Washington especially during mid fall and spring. It's absolutely breathtaking. I love to drive south from Laurel to Washington, D.C. Whenever I do I feel very presidential or regal. If you want to get the true authentic feeling of being regal as I like to call it being Lord or Lady Baltimore you should start or end your driving tour in Baltimore. You get the full robust experience of Prince George's County, Maryland.

  7. Go camping in the deep deep woods with school friends. There are lots and lots of woods to roam and fun to have in Fort Washington and in Brandywine.

  8. Go visit Bladensburg Waterfront and take a lovely boat ride on the river. Don't forget to bring a harness for wiggleable creatures, picnicking gear, and a fantastic and fun loving spirit. They have a lovely playground and space that's able to hold about 50-100 of my closest little friends.

  9. Drive up route 50 or Annapolis Road stopping at Cheverly, Lanham, and New Carrollton to shop, tour historic homes, and places and see the trains go by.

  10. Hang out in Bowie and take in the sights, visit the local parks, dine, golf, attend a game, and go shopping.

Piece of Friendly Advice: When you get to high places don't call it PG county the locales don't like it. Please keep our county beautiful so if you drop something pick it right up. From all of us in Prince George's County, Maryland we thank you!
