I actually carry a full size calendar around when I travel. Digital calendars are wonderful but I need the real thing too. It grounds me. Therefore before the end of the calendar year. I race to the dollar store to pick up a calendar for the new year not just for myself but my loved ones too.
Majority of the time I carry art supplies with me. You never know when inspiration will strike so be prepared. I usually have it readily accessible for my kids too. I carry a pouch with a few crayons, a pencil, and drawing paper. The dollar store has lots of choices. I also use my camera phone and allow my children to take photos too.
I always carry a book around. Yes, I love digital/audio books and resources but I love the feel and smell of real books. Reading real books makes me extremely happy.
I seriously can't function without an analog/digital clock. I love my cell phone but I need the real thing to keep me grounded. For me there is something about seeing the time, that reminds me to be grateful and use the time I have wisely. At the same time on days I want to unplug, I don't use clocks at all so I can stay focused and on track.
