Life is hard and so is loving others.
It's often easier to just walk, hide, or run away.
Love takes hard work and it is tedious.
It takes commitment day after day after day after day to stay in the game of love.
It isn't easy at all to choose not to give up.
Some learn this during parenting.
Some learn this during marriage.
Some learn this during friendship.
Some learn this during their career.
Some learn this while taking care of their aging relatives.
Some learn this in the after life that loving means staying against the odds.
No matter how long it takes it's a lesson in endurance.
It's a lesson in grace, hope, and faithfulness.
It's a lesson in constant forgiveness and mercy.
This is what separates men from boys and girls from women.
To see positive changes it takes time, a lot of time.
It takes grit and perservance.
It takes a lot of prayer and tears.
It's like sitting on an egg.
It's like watching a pot of water boiling.
It's like watching sheep or better yet children grow up.
It takes a lot of balance of their needs and your own.
During this season of my life no matter the ups and downs I have to challenge myself to keep moving on, keep pressing on, and keep moving forward. To keep the good and throw away the bad. Reminding myself that the best things in life and love are the things, that do indeed take the hardest work.
