Cinco de Mayo, May 5th is a great opportunity to celebrate the important contributions of Native Mexican and Mexican Americans around the world and especially at home with your friends and family.
Festive Ideas:
- Have your family conduct their own research about Native Mexicans, Mexican Americans, Mexico, and/or Christianity in Mexico.
- Watch a video online, read a book or encyclopedia about Mexico, Mexican people, Cinco de Mayo, and its global and cultural influences.
- Have your family work together to develop fun ways to present or celebrate what they have learned in a fun and unique way with others.
- Plan and make a Mexican style meal.
- Plan and create Mexican inspired art, music, costumes, or dance.
- Visit the library to learn more about Mexican history, art, music, food, people, geography, trade, crops, and etc.
- Plan a fantasy or real trip to Mexico and include places, people, and fun things to do.
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
