It's fun because it makes others feel special.
Sending cards is personal and it conveys to others that the moment or the person is worth going an extra mile.
When sending a card that others enjoy you are supporting the artistic community. It may contain pictures, images, or music. It may also contain word art and poetry. Cards can be as low as .50 to $1 at the Dollar Tree.
Making and giving cards gives you a chance to be creative. You can use simple blank paper or card stock to design your own cards and then send them to someone you love. It is love in action and it is touching to the recipient. This is a great opportunity to remind others of God's love as you create a special homemade card.
During the holiday season you can join with other people or organizations to send cards and etc to military members, first responders. You can send them as an individual to pastors, teachers, senior citizens, patients, and neighbors. In efforts to support a Christian prison or hospital ministry you can send cards to prisoners or to patients in the hospital. I keep cards that I don't use for this purpose and I keep them in a fancy repurposed shoebox. This is where I go to get a special card throughout the year that holds a heartfelt message of hope, strength, or love.
Sending cards is a great way to connect with your loved ones beyond the celebratory or holiday season. The card is a tangible love letter that someone can keep forever. It can be place on a shelf, table, countertop, or on a vision board as a symbol of hope.
The blessing is in the sending. In full honestly it can get discouraging to not receive a card that's why sending cards in todays climate can be a full time christian ministry, at times. However, it is a worthwhile one especially to someone who needs an act of kindness like a hard working mom, dad, employer, or employee.
